He completed post-graduation in management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He has two Hotel Management Diplomas from the International Hotel Association, Paris, France and from the American Hotel & Lodging Association, US. He did a fellowship with CERT, an apex body of Irish hospitality education. He worked at: The Oberois where he created the Oberoi Hotel School and was the General Manager of two Oberoi properties ; ITC Welcomgroup where he was Member Personnel on the Divisional Board. He created the Welcomgroup Hotel Training Centre in New Delhi and commissioned the Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration at Manipal, Karnataka ; Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Pusa, New Delhi. He was on the Board of many IHMs and the National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, also member of National Classification Committee. Moved to Dubai in 1994 as Director, Human Resources for the Metropolitan Chain. He set up the Metropolitan Institute of Hotel Management in collaboration with HIM, Montreaux, Switzerland. He became Group Vice President, HR of the Metropolitan Group. Immigrated to Canada 2000 and worked with a Property Management Company. Returned to Dubai in 2002, acted as advisor to the Merit Hotel School with campuses in Dubai and Sharjah. Also consultant with "The Peoples Partnership". Worked as a career counsellor and had his own program on FM Radio 89.1. ; he had a column with Khaleej Times ; taught at Eikon Academy which brought in the Herriot-Watt University.
